Expanding at a steady pace, Curry Champ has opened its third location right in the heart of Taipei. In order to differentiate it from other locations, the decor for the ZhongXiao branch has a Moroccan feel to it. Instead of tables, the new Curry Champ is full of booths and can seat 116 people. Ever since the first Curry Champ was established, the most popular dish has always been Opium Curry; you can get it with beef (NT$190) or chicken (NT$170). The secret to this dish is the sauce, which is made by stewing onions for six or seven hours and then throwing in a variety of spices and bittersweet chocolate. To go with your curry, you can also get normal rice, organic wild rice, naan, or French bread. Another innovative dish is Pilaf Pizza (NT$190), which is an interesting variation on thin crust pizza. --Written and translated by Diva Yang, photos by Andy Lin
