FiFi Contemporary Chinese Cuisine was opened by renowned local fashion designer Isabelle Wen. FiFi 2 combines the Shanghai and Sichuan flavors of Wen's two other restaurants, FiFi and Butterfly. The menu, conceived by Wen and her mother, features a range of spicy dishes derived from Wen's childhood influences while growing up in Shanghai. --By Dipal Khatri, translated by Ann Lee

A. A recommended dish is Poached Chicken in Special Chili Pepper Sauce (NT$280). Among the restaurant's tastiest dishes are Salted Egg with Water Bamboo Shoots (NT$320), in which the egg yolk is fried with bamboo until it is golden and crispy, and Minced Pork Stuffed in Whole Chili Pepper (NT$320). The latter consists of a green pepper that is hollowed out, stuffed with pork filling and then fried.

B. While FiFi has a traditional Chinese interior and includes antiques from Wen's collection, FiFi 2 is a mix of the East and West. The decor exudes elegance with a modern edge, where dominant black blends with splashes of lime green and aquamarine. Chandeliers highlight the bold printed designs and modern art displayed on the walls.
