The name "Hatsunezushi" has been around for 137 years and is a well-known Japanese sushi chain restaurant. Taipei is now the site of the chain's first overseas branch. Although Japanese restaurants are ubiquitous in Taiwan, Hatsunezushi offers Taiwanese food connoisseurs a traditional-style Japanese delicacy backed by a rich history and culture, including many great stories. Following the Hatsunezushi spirit and persistence for quality, the Taiwan branch surprisingly doesn't have fancy decor but, rather, focuses on serving best-quality dishes to win the hearts of patrons. You can choose from a good selection of sushi dishes, together with some fugu (pufferfish) entrees, both well-known Japnese delicacies meticulously prepared by master chef Shigeo Miyake. You might also allow the chefs to prepare a custom-made sushi plate, incorporating all your favorite ingredients. Chef Miyake is an expert in creating fugu dishes, with 55 years of culinary experience under his belt. Customers can enjoy the unforgettable flavors he offers, including the must-try Fugu Sushi Roll. With Taiwan branch opening, Chef Miyake was asked to reside in Taiwan for a long period of time. So, if you are a sushi fan, you don't have to travel to Japan to savor these superb dishes, created by a master. Aside from a la carte dishes, there are also sushi meal sets starting from NT$3,000, or Fugu sets starting from NT$3,200. --By Dionysus, translated by Ann Lee
