This place is a realization of owner Louise Hsiang's dream of opening a restaurant that specializes in brunch and, since opening, has already has attracted a good flow of regular customers with tasty, filling meal options. Located next to SOGO Department Store's DunNan branch, this dreamy-looking building has a pink-purple interior, giving it a fairytale-like dining environment that's difficult to pull yourself away from. --Written & translated by Diva Yang
A. All the newest menu items are marked with a star here. Aside from the signature brunch dishes, pasta and risotto items are also alternative choices. The Italian-style Hsiang's Brunch Set Menu (NT$540) is very hearty and affordable, providing enough energy for the entire day. It includes a Mimosa (or Cranberry Yogurt Smoothie), Vegetable Frittata, Bacon Caesar Salad, three kinds of bread, soup, rice, Pan-Fried Veal and Vanilla Panna Cotta. Brunch is using imported meat and organic vegetables and eggs. A glass of Treetop apple juice and cup of tea or coffee are complimentary with brunch orders. Hsiang The Brunch only offers the finest coffee beans from Julius Mein--Vienna's leading specialty coffee for 145 years and valued at NT$550 per half pound.
B. Spinach Cheese Egg Benedict (NT$340) is two open-faced corn English muffins with spinach, cheddar cheese, two sunny side-up eggs, fresh hollandaise sauce and Potato O'Brien. For afternoon tea, you can choose one dessert to go with a coffee drink for NT$250. Fondant au Chocolate Cake with vanilla ice cream (NT$200 a la carte) and Cafe Latte (NT$160 regular) are the most-requested light meal combo.
