While it may not be easy to find on the map, The Fairy Cafe is located right next to the outside corridor of a residential building. When you enter, it feels like you're entering a forest cave with fairies gathering around you, each with its own name. Take a closer look and see how many of them you can find. --By Josie Wu, translated by Ann Lee
A. Nine years ago, South African owner Anje came to Taiwan, fell in love with the place and decided to move here. She is very fond of fairies and therefore started her own cafe with this theme. In addition to her personal creativity with decorations, she is also in charge of cooking all the meals here.
B. The cafe mainly offers light snacks and meals, and also incorporates flavors from around the world. The Asparagus Quiche (NT$165) has refreshing flavors, and there's Anje's own creative dish, Chicken Pie (2 for NT$180), which has a crusty texture stuffed with tender chicken pieces.
C.The coffees here are made with 50 grams of beans and served in a 400cc mug, and each coffee comes with a slice of chocolate. The Amarula Latte, a popular choice made with South African cream-based liqeuer Amarula, has a fruity taste and is topped with fresh cream. If you are a fan of sweets, try the Banoffee (NT$120) or the Apple Crumble Deluxe (NT$115), both popular signature sweets at The Fairy Cafe.
