        Proprietor Yu Su-chuan, who opened Yellow Submarine in 1999, learned how to make sandwiches while doing voluntary work for the YWCA in Canada. Her sandwiches are both tasty and inexpensive, subs being priced from NT$50 to NT$80. One of the more unusual combinations--Ms. Yu says no other sandwich vendors sell it--is the Mashed Potato Sub. Some people, she says, think it's strange. But others love it and have become regular customers. Yellow Submarine also offers Hot Nachos (NT$150), and plenty of drinks, including teas, coffees, and sodas. There¡¦s nowhere to sit, but with the main campus of National Chengkung University just across the road, the picnicking possibilities are obvious.
