The Pig & Whistle, a landmark British-style pub with branches in Kaohsiung and Hsinchu, serves a wide variety of great drinks and food. Always innovative, the Pig & Whistle has begun offering its customers the Test Tube--a novel way of presenting a cocktail. A big hit with locals of both sexes, and often ordered by tables of friends because the method of serving allows every one to try a little, this drink--as the name suggests--comes in test tubes. Twenty tubes, each holding 25-cc of booze, means a half-liter of cocktail; accordingly, this drink is somewhat more expensive than normal-size cocktails. Three versions are available: Around The World, Kamikaze, and Mai Tai (all are priced at NT$520). Sharing a Test Tube set is no doubt a great way to break the ice.
Cocktail ingredients for Mai Tai Test Tube:
-1 oz. Dark Rum
-1 oz. White Rum
-0.5 oz Amaretto
-0.5 oz Triple Sec
-0.5 oz Lemon Juice
-1 oz Orange Juice & Pineapple Juice
-0.5 oz Grenadine
Pour all the ingredients over ice, then shake. Position test tubes in a rack, then pour the cocktail out into the test tubes. |
