This Kaohsiung classic has been open for over 13 years
and time and time again visitors and locals alike make
this place their home away from home. All three floors
will have a few 39-inch LCD televisions broadcasting
from four individual satellite feeds, so soccer fans
can watch four separate matches within easy viewing
distance of each other. Watch out for a large digital
screen projector on the first floor, and an all-new
menu in May. Since April they have been promoting Friday
night sports leading up to the World Cup, featuring
games, prizes and drink specials.

With a new partner, new menu, more drink options and
open and live music nights; this place also aims to
please enthusiastic soccer fans. Home to the Hash House
Harriers, The Dick will have at least two large-screen
televisions and possibly a large screen digital projector
during crucial matches. Boasting a booming sound system
and an open, casual atmosphere (with some of the freshest
and meatiest BBQ burgers around), it equates to a great
night out during World Cup month.
Happy Buddha Bar and Grill

any number of familiar or new drinks and food items
in a relaxing, open environment, conveniently located
between TsuoYing district and the downtown core.
Harbour 13 Green Bay

and HaiBian Road, directly on the Love River); (07)
Hours: Sunday - Thursday, 11 am-2 am; Friday, Saturday

Harbor 13 Green Bay Kitchen will have perhaps the most
impressive setup for FIFA fans. With a large-screen
digital projector outside on the upper patio deck and
another projector inside, one could almost overlook
the four large-screen plasma televisions around the

Cup month and feature games with prizes, lucky draws
and drink specials. Watch out for their giant Soccer
Burger and two satellite feeds in both Chinese and English.
Second Base Bar & Grill
321, JianKang Road, Sec. 2, Tainan City
Hours: Tue-Sun, 6 p.m. - late
Willy's Second Base has live coverage of sports all
the time. Recently, British Premier League soccer and
Formula 1 racing have been bringing in crowds. There's
a big screen and three smaller screens, to watch different
matches at the same time. The big screen will show satellite
coverage, while the smaller screens will show local
TV coverage. Throughout the World Cup there will be
beer and mixed drink specials, and the chef will serve
Fish and Chips, plus some new French specials and salads.
Regular opening hours (6 p.m. to 2 or 3 a.m.) should
fit almost all match times, but the bar will stay open
later if necessary.
82, GongYuan S. Rd.; (06) 2269-520
Hours: 7 p.m.-5 a.m.
The Armory has recently moved in two new directions
at the same time. The menu is much more extensive--there
are dozens of Western, Chinese, and vegetarian favorities--and
following the installation of satellite TV, international
sports events are regularly shown live. The only establishment
in Tainan able to show three satellite TV channels at
the same time, the Armory expects good crowds for the
World Cup games. The normal opening hours should cover
all the games. And if anyone is seeking extended hours,
the management is willing to listen to requests.
