Run by the same people who operate the Greek Restaurant on nearby GongYuan Road, this new establishment is perhaps the closest Tainan has ever come to authentic Indian food. The chefs may be locals, but the food does resemble the real thing, portions are generous, and the prices won't bankrupt you. Set meals, which include a Tandoori Salad, Lentil Soup, Naan Bread, and a choice of curries, are priced NT$380 to NT$430. If you order a la carte, there are several pages of curries and other items to choose from. The menu lists more than a dozen vegetarian dishes (NT$100 to NT$200); Indian-style desserts are NT$60. Soft drinks start at NT$50; beers, including Indian-made Kingfisher, are NT$80. You can sit indoors or outside. Take your shoes off when going inside; you'll be sitting on cushions beside low tables. Outdoors, you can sit under shade or enjoy the fall sunshine. Regulations require FYI South to remind you not to drink and drive.
