At a time when this city is seeing a proliferation of Italian pizza, pasta and spaghetti restaurants, Ciao Italian Restaurant is no slouch. Keep this restaurant in mind when the craving for popular Italian dishes and your choices of where to go become overwhelming. Here you will find minestrone soup and other favorites from NT$60 to NT$100, delicious appetizers from NT$60 to NT$150, and heaping pasta dishes in three distinct sauces (Red, White and Pesto) from NT$110 to NT$200. Risotto and plate sized 10-inch pizzas for your personal enjoyment range from NT$120 to NT$180. Don't miss the Mozzarella Cheese with Fresh Tomato appetizer (NT$80). This fresh and tangy-flavored Mediterranean-style treat is a sure way to begin before digging into the Chef's Pizza (NT$180) or the soon-to-be-famous Binca Pizza (NT$200). Along with a fantastic tasting pizza sauce and a superb apportion of herbs, this pizza is also garnished with olives, capers, ham, onions and peppers. There is a second floor with additional seating for more than 80, a la carte and set meal menu, and a 10% service charge on all orders. --Words and photos by John Matthews, translated by Ann Lee
