2004 Cross-Cultural Film Festival--"When East Meets West"

 


     Organized by Wenzao Ursuline College of Languages and running throughout October, this film festival hopes to provide Kaohsiung residents with an opportunity to understand foreign cultures through French, German, Spanish, Japanese and Chinese-language movies. Through film exhibitions and keynote speeches, the festival aims to expands citizens' horizons in terms of globalization. There will be various venues, and festival activities will be open to everyone. Every day between October 5 and October 31, movies will be shown at the Kaohsiung Municipal Film Archive. Among the featured directors will be Chang Tso-Chi, Stanley Kwan, Zhang Yi-mou, Volker Schlondorff, Pedro Almodovar, Alejandro Amenabar, and Takeshi Kitano.
