Humble House Taipei
18, SongGao Rd, Taipei City
Officially opened in December 27, 2103, Humble House Taipei is Humble House's first hotel. Situated in Taipei's busy Xinyi district, from the 5th to 24th floor this hotel boasts 235 guestrooms, banquet halls, all-day Italian restaurant LA FARFALLA and lobby bar The Terrace. To reduce pollution to the environment, nearly 50% of the building construction materials are eco-friendly, certified by Ministry of the Interior. And this represents the theme of Humble House Taipei: A garden in the city.
As soon as you enter the hotel, you can feel the hotel's life esthetics from its collection of nearly 600 art pieces by international artists. Lai Yin-li, the one arranging this art collection, and also chairwoman of Humble House, thinks art and taste should be of more importance than commercial value. The art pieces should be in harmony with the surrounding environment, and should provoke the viewer to thought. Therefore, art pieces displayed in Humble House Taipei are not cold, difficult, but rather friendly, playful, and understandable. Even if you're not here for an overnight stay, you can still enjoy some good meals or afternoon tea here, and remember, save some time for the lovely art pieces.
Out of the 235 guestrooms, 86 afford guests a beautiful view of Taipei 101 and the whole of Taipei city. It's best for situations like New Year's Eve, when the guests can enjoy the beauty of the fireworks from a short distance. Carpets in the rooms are Brinton, one of the finest carpet brands from U.K.. Wi-fi is available in the entire area of the hotel. Turndown service is available in all guestrooms. Amenities from British home fragrance brand Heyland & Whittle are only available in rooms with view and suites.
A. The video which can be seen at the 6th floor elevator hall is a 9-minute short film by Chinese artist Yang Yong-liang, and some spots of Taipei can be seen in the video. Other interesting art pieces include Bourrasque at the lobby, and The Hole, which looks like a bottomless hole, near the staircase on the 5th floor.
