SSB Hotel is located by and named after Shin Sei Bashi, a bridge built during the Japanese colonial era, known today as Zhongshan Green Bridge. Proud of its historic location, the hotel incorporates Japanese elements into its design for a clean, minimalist and pleasant atmosphere. For individual female travelers there is a hostel-like room with 10 beds, each equipped with a light-blocking curtain, personal charging station, light, and storage cabinet (NT$550/650 a night weekday/weekends). The room also includes two double beds and is available for large groups. All other 2-person rooms range from NT$1900 to NT$2480/night, including a room with two twin beds and one with a bathtub. Most rooms have a view of the historic bridge and canal, and visitors with train tickets can rent discounted rooms for NT$1800 a night. A washing machine and detergent is provided, in addition to free rides to the Fengjia or YiZhong Street night markets. --By Karen Sims, translated by Julie Chen
