Master Spicy Noodle

This popular Taipei spicy hotpot-style noodle eatery has opened its first branch outside of the capital city in a pure-white old house in Taichung’s West District and has been packed since opening. The chef’s recommended handmade “Master Noodles” are chewy and aromatic, pairing very well with the specialty Spicy/Stewed Half Meat and Half Tendon Soup (NT$280, Beef Soup NT$230), soft-boiled egg, fresh duck blood and spicy sauce, with approximately 400-600 bowls sold daily. There are also many other excellent side dishes and soft drinks (NT$30-110) such as the recommended deep-fried dough and plum juice. Spicy Tofu and Golden Fish Eggs are two other must-try dishes. To ensure the best food quality, this shop does not offer take-out dishes, although it does sell instant noodles and spicy sauce gift sets for those wanting to enjoy these delicacies at home.
