The original La Mode western restaurant, located on the first floor of The Landis Hotel, has continued to impress diners with its very good food and high-class service and ambiance. With the opening of a restaurant on the second floor of the new Mitsukoshi Department Store, a completely-new menu of lighter and cheaper, but still filling and delicious, dishes can be sampled. These include a la mode style linguine (NT$280), chicken curry rice with home-made chutney (NT$290), cannelloni and baked pork knuckle with sauerkraut (NT$360). There are also plenty of pastries, including bagels, muffins and cakes, sandwiches and salads, like roast beef with French baguette (NT$260) or chicken basil pesto salad with ricotta cheese. There is seating inside and in the lobby-like area just outside the restaurant.
