Located in a quieter part of town in the Hsitun District, the Howard Prince is probably the most tranquil of the city's top-end hotels. From the 16th Floor Ocean Reef Restaurant, there are views of green fields and the skyline of Taichung City. Ocean Reef is famous for its Taiwanese cuisine. Some of its more popular dishes are pumpkin "glass" noodles, bamboo fish and pickled turnip omelette. Various congees and appetizers are also available. Prices range from about NT$300 to NT$500 per person. Business lunches range from NT$600 to NT$1,200. Afternoon tea is NT$300 + 10% service charge on weekdays and NT$360 on Saturdays and Sundays. The afternoon tea service is unique here, as hot dishes are served instead of cake or other dessert. The main dining area seats 480 people and there are smaller private dining rooms that can hold up to 50.
