This exciting new addition to Taichung's
American bistro-style dining scene is the fulfillment of a long
dream by the man behind Taichung's successful Little Italy restaurants,
Roger Jeng. Located on the Wuchuan Parkway, a few stores down from
Little Italy, Chicago Chips follows a formula popularized by places
like T.G.I. Friday's, serving hearty portions of all-American food
in a suitably-relaxed atmosphere. The tasty, large main courses
include Hickory Smoked Pork Ribs (NT$380/half rack, NT$590/full
rack) or Chicken; four varieties of fajitas (NT$350-440); Southern
Fried Chicken; Rice Pilaf with San Antonio Chili (NT$170); and several
varieties of quesadillas (NT$250-280), served with a 10-inch floor
tortilla, or two six-inch corn tortillas. There are also plenty
of starters, like the Buffalo Wings, Popcorn Shrimp with Mango Salsa,
and the very large Ballpark Nachos, with about eight different toppings.
The Margaritas are definitely worth trying, too. From mid-September,
the restaurant will open for lunch on, at 11:30 a.m.
