CACTI
INDIAN RESTAURANT
22-1, Cun Zhong (Tsuen Jung) Street
 |
In
a complete makeover, Cacti has shed its Malay dishes to
focus exclusively on Indian cuisine, just like its sister
Spice Shop restaurants. Changes have extended to the restaurant's
white, two-floor, stucco-like building (next to Papa Mio)
in the Art Museum neighborhood, between Jung Ming South
and Mei Cun (Meitsun) roads (see Compass Wu Quan Parkway
Map). More Indian touches, from very large movie posters
and art to Indian background music, complement the comfortable,
upholstered chairs and sofas, easily making this the most
attractive, largest Indian outlet in the city. The menu
is almost identical to The Spice Shop's, but the owners
are planning to add some unique items, including two new
mutton dishes, some coconut-based vegetarian items, chicken
Reshmi Kebabs, and a Malay-style pan-fried bread--Roti
Chennai. Other favorites among the authentic Indian dishes
include main courses like Chicken or Fish Vindaloo (NT$250),
Beef Madras (NT$250), Chicken Tikka (NT$200), Chicken Tandoori
(NT$270), Palak Paneer (NT$140), Allo Gobhi (NT$100) and
Daal (NT$100). Of course, there is naan bread, samosas,
Indian lassi (yogurt) drinks, and Indian Kingfish Beer
("Most thrilling chilled").
