If the staff at COMPASS Magazine is walking around with smiles these days, it is because their very own building was chosen as the location for the newest Taichung branch of America's favorite sandwich chain restaurant. Located west of the freeway a couple blocks before Cheng Ching Hospital, this attractive new outlet features Subway's new warmer, homier "Tuscany Decor", using brick-patterned walls, vermeil-color wallpaper, attractive graphics and other touches. There are 10 tables inside and three outside and customers are welcome to plug in their notebook computers and linger. As usual, Subway offers about 15 varieties of 6 and 12-inch submarine sandwiches on a selection of five breads. There are also salads, soups, drinks and sinfully-delicious, fresh-baked cookies. One unique touch is a soon-to-arrive cappuccino coffee machine, and breakfast may be offered in the future, depending on demand. A major focus of this Subway is take-out and delivery--to anywhere west of the Freeway--making it a convenient option for anyone living or working around the Taichung Industrial Park, World Trade Center, Tunghai University, Hong Tai Community, or in the Sun Mall/Geant hypermart neighborhoods. Convenient parking is available out front, or in the parking lot next door.
