Ideally located on the corner of DongXing and DaYe roads, Cafe 5:10 is an attractive cafe restaurant run by Frenchman Nicolas Guillou and his Taiwanese wife, who named the establishment after the birth time of their baby boy. Umbrella-shaded tables line a nice wooden deck outside the the cafe and inside there is seating for 35. According to Nicolas, the orange walls and other colorful touches, like the framed photos from his home province of Bretagne (Brittany) reflect a modern-style French cafe with multi-cultural influences from North Africa and elsewhere. A wide range of hot and iced coffees (NT$50-90), teas (NT$45-55), juices, shakes and smoothies are available, in addition to beer and wine. However, Nicolas points out that this is a restaurant, too, with a good selection of nicely-presented, generous pasta and rice entrees which reflect the Brittany influence by focusing on seafood. These dishes, which come with a green or black tea and bread, include Black Ink Squid Spaghetti (NT$200), Seafood Gratin in Cream Sauce (NT$180), and Chicken Lemon Cream Sauce Pasta (NT$180). There are also breakfast sets (NT$110-150 including drink) and French snack sets, including croissants, sandwiches and French bread. For dessert, there are various-flavored mousse cakes (NT$65), pies (NT$50), and double cheese cakes (NT$45-65) in flavors like cherry, cappuccino and Japanese tea.
