You can experience West Lake Noodle House's efforts to provide a clean dining environment as soon as you set foot in the restaurant which, unlike the stereotypical less-than-clean noodle shop, is bright and clean. The restaurant is conveniently located on a side street by Carrefour's ChingHai branch. Its unique flavors and health-oriented menu draw many diners. Simple, fresh Steamed Duck Noodles (NT$100), the assorted-ingredient Beef Noodle Soup (NT$180) and a variety of dumplings (NT$7 each) with different fillings (with a higher vegetable-to-meat ratio), are all popular dishes here. Dumplings come in kimchi, fennel, cucumber and gourd varieties. The tortilla bread is an attraction here and, wrapped around stewed meat without any additional seasonings, is very good. Another hit is the private-recipe kimchi, which makes a good gift for friends and family. The restaurant opens early in the morning and serves three meals. Fans include several celebrities, who have visited West Lake's main restaurant on YingCiao Road and left their signatures there.
