When stepping into this Xinjiang-style barbecue restaurant, you will be immediately engulfed in the thick, warm aroma of cumin, bringing to mind traditional Uyghur cuisine like roasted mutton on skewers over glowing charcoal. To ensure fresh authentic flavors, all ingredients--including beef, lamb, pork and chicken--are purchased daily and barbecued without any marinade except a private-recipe sauce. The resulting fragrant is very mouth-watering. The menu includes a variety of seafood, cow and goat organs, and vegetable dishes. Zi Ran (where lots of cumin is grown) Fat Beef Barbecue (NT$100) uses natural spices and is highly recommended. Xinjiang Mutton Barbecue (NT$80), Beef Tendon Cabbage cooked in a private recipe broth (NT$100), and Noodle Salad (NT$60) are all popular must-try dishes, too. The restaurant plays traditional Uyghur background music at all times, helping complete the exotic dining experience to be found here. --By Niang Chen, translated by Sho Huang
