City Paradise occupies 600 pings of space on Dadu Mountain. This outdoor recreational complex is a great place for all to unwind and relax while enjoying some simple-yet-delicious dishes. Meal choices here are really extensive and you can choose anything from steaks to stir-fries, soup and Japanese grilled meats. They also have a bar full of various refreshments available any time of the day, with the selection catering to diners of all ages and tastes. The Grilled Sea Wu-Guo Fish (, NT$120), Hot Stir-Fried Oolong Noodles (NT$70) and Peppery Spiral Shells (NT250) are all very popular dishes. They cook the food when you order it, so freshness is guaranteed. You can often catch professional bands playing while you eat, sometimes playing rock 'n' roll and sometimes old-time favorites. City Paradise has a very similar atmosphere and setting to Taichung's once-popular outdoor beer houses. Whether you are a fan of great food and company, or just want to kick back and enjoy the band, this is a great option any night of the week. --By Niang Chen, translated by Ann Lee
