Ikki, part of the Wang Steak restaurant empire, has finally opened a branch in Taichung. The chain functions on the concepts of "Fun Tastes + Creativity = Skilled Cooking", introducing local diners to a youthful and chic dining experience. Following these principles, ikki in Taichung is decorated in an elegant minimalist style and darker colors. Here you'll find a great fusion of Japanese cuisine and Western flavors. Dining utensils and dishware here have been specially designed by the chef and aim to combine dining functionality with beauty. One notable item served here is an all-you-can-eat Seafood Teapot Soup (soup is served in a teapot). --By Uvia Chang, translated by Naomi Lai
A. Costing only NT$680 noon or night, the Meal Set includes six courses: an appetizer, season sashimi, side dishes, a main course, meal, soup and dessert.
B. Raw Beef Sashimi is a favorite among the Japanese, with beef cut into 0.2-centimeter-thick slices. The evenly distributed marbling gives the beef a juicy, tender flavor.
C. Stone Garlic Beef Chuck Steak is another entree selection. The beef is cooked on a special grill placed on top of brown rice, which exudes a light fragrance as the grill heats up. The hot grill can sear in the meat's juices within seconds and the meat is best enjoyed with rose salt.
