Owner Vincent offers a relaxing dining environment plus an extensive, mid-priced menu that includes appetizers, salads, hamburgers, hot dogs, cheese gratin pasta, pizzas, steaks and various drinks (two half-liter Stella Artois draft beers are currently NT$224). With its two big-screen TVs, Hot Shock is also a good venue for watching sports. --By Javier Siles, translated by Angel Pu
A.
Hot Shock's own barbecue sauce and big, thick-cut onion rings come with the Grilled Smoked Chicken (NT$ 330). The Cheese Hot Dog's (NT$180) 23-centimeter sausage comes with an exceptional bun that's crispy on the outside, with a rough texture provided by semolina flour, and soft on the inside with generously-spread cheese sauce.
B.
The Hot Shock Platter (NT$210), with smoked-flavor buffalo wings, fried drumsticks, mozzarella sticks, calamari and french fries, is a top menu choice.
C. The upper floor can also be reached from the road via stairs on the building's left side. Pets are welcome on the balcony area.
