Tempus Hotel has entered Taichung's booming hot pot market as the first local high-end hotel to open a dedicated hot-pot restaurant. The hotel chefs have put their Chinese, Western and Japanese cooking backgrounds to good use, creating innovative new hot-pot flavors like Western-style Ox Tail Vegetable; Minestrone; and Barley Wild Rice (made with imported Canadian wild rice), plus Thai-style Curry Coconut Milk; Korean-style Kimchi; Japanese-style Mushroom Konbu; and more traditional Spicy, and Chinese Sauerkraut with Plain Boiled Pork varieties. Weekday lunch/dinner set meals (NT$289-389) are also offered. --By Douglas Habecker, translated by Angel Pu
