Mugen Japanese Cuisine
125, SanMin Rd, Sec 3, 2F, North Dist

Located in the World Gym and Lai Lai Hotel building, this spacious restaurant and bar offers a long menu of traditional and modern Japanese cuisine, exquisitely prepared and presented by the very experienced head chef. This includes sushi rolls, nigiri, California rolls, hand rolls, hot pot, and stir-fried and grilled dishes. Drinks include a variety of cocktails (NT$200-220), sake, whiskey and wine. --By Douglas Habecker, translated by Anna Yang
A. More traditional is the Today Only Sashimi Set (NT$720, 16 pieces), made with in-season seafood, pictured here with a hard-to-find, award-winning local craft/draft beer (NT$120 for 350 cc), plus an equally unique Helios Goya Dry bitter melon beer, brewed in Okinawa and quite good.
B. A good menu sampling includes the popular Diced Beef with Butter (NT$380), prepared with tender Angus beef, plus Golden Pickled Cabbage and Cherry Duck California Roll (NT$180, front center), and Fried Scallops with Basil Leaves (NT$250, left).
C. The upscale lounge-like ambiance has a variety of seating, including tables, two bar areas and sofas. |
