Newbi Sukiyaki

(04) 2238-1068
383, HanKou Rd, Sec 4, North Dist
Hours: 11 am-2 am

This all-you-can-eat sukiyaki restaurant has family ties to the well-known A-Kuan restaurant group and mainly offers U.S. Angus black beef and Australian wheat-fed Angus black beef. The thinly-sliced beef's shoulder is tender with less fat while the sukiyaki sauce is prepared with stir-fried onions with a soup concentrate. Diners can boil both sides of the sliced meat in the sukiyaki broth for extra savory flavors and tenderness. Besides sliced beef, many other healthy, reasonably-priced meat options include pork belly, pork tenderloin and chopped chicken thigh perfect for calorie-conscious customers. Those wanting to try a non-sukiyaki soup base can try miso kimchi, seaweed, and chicken soup flavors for an added NT$49. There are about 15 seasonal vegetable options, including corn, cauliflower and enoki mushrooms, served to tables with a food cart. The price per person is NT$369 on weekdays and NT$429 during holidays and dinners. Dining time is limited to 90 minutes. --By Niang Chen, translated by Anna Yang
