Taichung's newest lounge bar is located on the second and
third floors of the glass building on Tiger City mall's plaza.
This upscale bar, until recently known as The Blu, has been
renamed following a make-over by the management of Taipei's
well-known Plush lounge bar. The former blue-based decor has
now changed to red, including cushy velvet chairs. Other changes
include the addition of lounge and chillout music, with regular
visits by DJs. When it comes to drinks, one of T.C. Champagne
Lounge's specialties is champagne, with over 20 varieties,
from the NT$1,800 Moet & Chandon Brut Imperial to the
NT$4,300 1990 Domrunart Blanc de Blancs. Other reputable labels
include Taittinger, Nicolas Feuillatte, Dom Perignon, and
Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin. An equally impressive selection
of French, Italian, Californian, Australian, Spanish, Chilean,
German and Argentinian wines starts from NT$1,200/bottle.
There are blended and single-malt Scotch whiskies (starting
from NT$280/glass, NT$3,800 bottle). Other drinks include
champagne, standard, premium and special cocktails, from the
B-52 to Amaretto Sour, plus NT$160 beers, liqueurs, coffees
and teas. Snacks and light meals (NT$240-480) include roast
lamb chops, vegetable sticks, and chicken wings.
