If
you're looking for good music and company, then check
out Salut on a Friday night after payday, when live
music keeps Soho Street hopping all night long. Friday
nights will also soon be Open Mic Night? with a free
drink for performers. But, no matter what night it is,
the pizza is always available and enjoyable. You can
build your own pizza (NT$140/190 + NT$15-80/topping)
with specialties like capers, anchovies, and sun-dried
tomatoes, or choose one of the owner's creations (9-inch/12-inch;
NT$210-350), including Mexican (roast beef and cheddar),
Seafood (shrimp, salmon and crab), or Vegetarian (artichoke,
olives and asparagus). The thick crust is rounded out
with whole-wheat flour. Grab a draught Carlsberg or
try the Granville Island Amber Ale, straight from Vancouver,
to go with that pizza; just don't expect coffee on a
busy night. The staff is hardworking and friendly and
the outdoor picnic tables are large enough to share
comfortably with strangers. |
