Created in cooperation with several international cultural organizations, the Taiwan Digital Culture Center (TDCC) is a high-level program designed by Taichung City Government to work towards a "smart city" vision. The program aims to build a digital city museum that integrates virtual networks and physical space via collaboration with local and international cultural institutions, for the purpose of preserving Taiwanese cultural heritage and promoting cultural innovation.

2017 International Digital Culture Forum

Under the theme of "Link and Linkage", the International Digital Culture Forum includes a first-day workshop and will take place August 11-13, 2017 in the Taichung Municipal Building's Assembly Hall, providing a platform for local and international professionals and the TDCC's potential target audience to exchange experiences. The forum will also focus on topics pertaining to future TDCC operations, from administration to architecture.

First-day workshop topics will focus on the conversion of local cultural resources to digital cultural data with digital tools to boost exposure. Forum topics on the second and third days will cover a combination of digital technology and culture reflecting daily life. Taichung City Government has invited representatives from the Executive Yuan's Ministry of Culture and Academia Sinica; international experts from the British Library, Culture24, National Library of Scotland, and TeamLab of Japan; and local cultural groups in order to connect local and international cultural institutions and boost international cultural relationships.
