This homey, friendly cafe, located in a house between DongXing and DaDun roads, has been opened by Joanne Wu and Stan Huang. Taiwan-born Joanne grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah, spending 22 years there, and is an animal lover (particularly cats) becoming increasingly known for her animal-welfare efforts and related blog (http://blog.sina.com.tw/walkcafe/). As a result, pet owners are welcome to bring their four-legged friends and reserve access to a second-floor cat room (with scratching posts and other pet-friendly items). Stan handles the sizable menu of reasonably-priced food and drinks, including popular items like Fish and Chips (NT$220), Waldorf Salad (NT$100) and Seasonal Fruit Shakes (NT$60). There is also all-day breakfast choices like the Breakfast Burrito (NT$120), Omelet, and American Breakfast, plus various sandwiches, pasta dishes and other entrees. A NT$200 Set Meal special provides a salad, soup, main entree and tea or juice. Joanne says that wireless Internet is also coming soon. --By Douglas Habecker, translated by Ann Lee
