Owner Sebastian Pei, whose dessert-making passion led him to study at Le Cordon Bleu Tokyo, decided to open this B&B with attached dessert shop between Taichung's Dongshi District and Miaoli County's Zhuolan Township when he returned to Taiwan. Dried flowers are liberally used in the simple decor of this Japanese-style shop, which offers handmade French desserts four days per week. These refined creations include Blueberry Sky (NT$150), a layer of cheesecake on top of blueberry sauce and Italian cottage cheese; Matcha Mille Feuille (NT$150), prepared with fragrant cream and a rich amount of matcha sauce; and several tart options (NT$120). These can be enjoyed with freshly-brewed coffees (NT$90-150), made with two types of coffee beans, and select teas (NT$80-180). --By Chloe Chang, translated by Anna Yang
