L’AROME Restaurant offers exceptionally-prepared fine dining in sleek-looking premises with an open kitchen. Chef Raymond creates dishes grounded in French cooking techniques with added international flair so that flavors and techniques overlap. The menu is short, yet varied, with multiple sets for diners to choose from (NT$980-NT$2,380). Wine pairings (NT$660-1,130 bottle) are also offered by the sommelier. The Australian Wagyu Beef Onglet (add NT$380 to set price) offers perfectly cooked succulent beef served with roasted and pickled chilies and a side of creamy mashed potatoes. The Daikon Soup uses aged daikon and a whole scallop, and is beautifully garnished. Black Garlic Risotto is an interesting and delicious take on this northern Italian classic and suitable for vegetarians. An a la carte menu is also available for those looking for a small meal or those with children. Desserts include the Red Oolong Tea–a puff pastry with custard apple and ice cream–and Grapes, a combination of yogurt panna cotta, sherry jelly, and VSOP ice cream.
