Lungta Tibetan and Indian Cuisine

This restaurant’s Tibetan owner, Tenzin, hails from Ladakh in northern India, where the movie “3 Idiots” was filmed. He has enjoyed studying Tibetan and Indian cooking since a young age and the menu here contains reasonably-priced dishes with these exotic influences and flavors. A special item is MoMo (10 steamed dumplings) stuffed with either pork (NT$120) or beef (NT$140) with a juiciness and unique flavor best enjoyed with a spicy sauce. Tsampa, made with barley flour, is a Tibetan staple and goes well with a cup of sweet, aromatic Masala Tea or Tibetan Butter Tea. Chewy, fragrant naan bread (NT$50-70) is available in butter, garlic and cheese flavors, with the latter prepared with rich cheese and tasting like baked pizza dough. An excellent Palak Chicken comes with a hearty portion of spinach and curry sauce, while the classic Chicken Tikka is made with many seasonings and onions and complements yogurt nicely.
