Meow

Meow is a traditional Japanese teppanyaki-style restaurant offering fresh-made, wholesome food cooked right in front of you. For very reasonable prices, diners can enjoy the skills of Chef Roy Pan, who has over 24 years of experience and is a favorite among Taiwanese celebrities, music stars and politicians. A variety of ingredients (NT$50-90) includes tofu skin, pine seaweed floss, crab, Mingtai lobster and grilled lobster, and there are custom-made beef, shrimp, chicken, lamb, and pork entrees (NT$110-NT$560). Chef Roy uses his signature beef cooking method–using just a little canola oil to marinade the meat in its own juices–to create the tender, delicious USA Prime Teppanyaki Sirloin (NT$260). His unique style is also evident in the Japanese Thin Salt Mackerel (NT$170), with the bone-free meat retaining original flavor and served only pepper and salt. Gourmands will also enjoy Meow’s “menu-free” meal options (NT$800-NT$7,000/person). –By Madeleyne Aguilar Andrade Translated by Candy Chang
