A little girl, Fern ( Dakota Fanning) , sees that Wilbur is a special animal as she raises him from being the runt of the litter into a terrific, radiant pig. He meets a spider named Charlotte (Julia Roberts) who can write and is also kind and beautiful. Not only does their bond inspire the animals around them to come together as a family, but also helps them plot to free Wilbur from butchering and attend the Pig Fair Contest.
