Head towards ZhuDong from Hsinchu, take Route 122 and follow the sign towards Mountain View Resort for about an hour's drive and you will find this great place to escape the summer heat.
The farm has retained its original features with peaches, persimmons and organic vegetables. The scenic area is planted with Japanese fir and a manmade coniferous forest. Look around and you will see that the area is surrounded by mountains. Walk down the mountain pathway and you will hear cicadas and birds, a very relaxing reminder that you're close to nature. Apart from the mountains and forests, there is also a huge pasture on the farm. Bring your kids or pets and have fun playing on the grass.
Apart from its peaceful scenery, the Mountain View Resort also provides meals and drinks, priced between NT$120 and NT$320. Home stays and small wooden cabins are also available. The friendly manager, Mr. Chen, recommends that visitors come for a walk around the farm before 3 p.m., and then enjoy the beautiful starlit skies outdoors after their meal. During the right season, you can even see fireflies flitting about. Get up before dawn the next morning for a walk along the mountain pathways and take in the fresh morning air, then wait for the sun to come out for yet another special sensation.
For the safety and convenience of visitors, Chen invites everyone to check their website for road conditions and an activities bulletin. He also hopes that all visitors will travel in and out around 3 p.m. so as to avoid thick fog which might compromise the safety of your trip.
