Patara is a joint operation between Thailand's famous S&P restaurant company and a local business. Its selling point is "Modern Thai food, handmade." All the dishes, from the appetizers to the Thai desserts, are all prepared by highly qualified chefs from Thailand. The house special-- fresh prawn and chicken crispy cake (240) is aromatic and crispy, refreshes the palate and is appetite stimulating. The Thai style sour and spicy prawn soup (330) exudes the special fragrance of chili and lemon; also the steamed bass (480), Thai curry (280) and Green curried chicken (270) will all make you want to come back for more. Patara has a variety of exquisite crispy deep fried items, including crispy grouper (700) crispy prawn (280), gold prawn cake, fried seasonal vegetables (240) etc. You will also never tire of the variety of Thai desserts, such a tarot coconut milk pudding and red bean coconut milk cake which you can have as much of as you can eat if you pay an additional NT$120. The restaurant also offers a business lunch for NT$199, very good value for money.-- By Josephine Lin, translated by Kevin Lax
