Two young women, one studying in England
and the other in France, had a chance meeting in London
and became friends. After years in Europe, these two
connoisseurs of good food and all things romantic decided
to return and set up a European-style restaurant in,
interestingly, suburban BanCiao. Only about three minutes
walk from XinPu MRT Station's Exit No.5 you'll come
upon a small garden and a French flag announcing the
premises of Carol et Ching. Head Chef Ching puts romance
into every dish that appears on their tables. Most dishes
are flavored with herbs, and almost everything is carefully
handmade. The east-west fusion cuisine is delicious
and reasonably priced. All day set menus are between
NT$680 and NT$880. Bread made from liquid yeast, the
Roasted Chicken Dome with Crab, the fragrant Pumpkin
Soup and the Chocolate Ginger Cake all come highly recommended.
Not only do taste buds get a treat at Carol et Ching,
every detail is visually pleasing as well. Just think,
a quick trip on the MRT Blue Line transports you on
a romantic getaway to affordable and delicious European
cuisine. How wonderful is that! |
