This traditional noodle bar, situated just around the corner from the C.K.S. Memorial Hall, is always packed, both at lunchtime and in the evenings. You may either eat in the large, indoor seating area or on the tables outside. The signature dish is their Beef Noodle Soup, which they have been serving up for over 35 years. A large bowl of Beef Noodle Soup costs a reasonable NT$90. The beef is good quality braising steak, which is cooked so that it literally melts in the mouth. The freshly made stock is excellent. The noodles (I chose the thicker variety) compliment the dish perfectly. Side dishes and other varities of beef soup without noodles are also available. This is a great place to grab a hearty lunch after wandering around C.K.S. Memorial Hall grounds -- and, of course, an excellent choice for those wishing to try out a traditional Taiwanese favourite served as it should be.
