Outlaw BBQ is not only one of Taichung’s newest barbecue eateries, but also perhaps one of its most unique ones. Since its June opening, new dishes are still being added to an already-great menu, focusing on American cook-out style cuisine but soon expanding to include Asian-fusion entrees. If you’re hungry, the delicious ribs (NT$480/full rack, NT$270/half rack) feature a tangy, sweet barbecue sauce with a slightly spicy kick, while the BBQ Chicken Thigh (NT$220) is succulent and savory. For lighter fair, the Pulled Pork Sandwich (NT$200) is a specialty of the owner and the Sloppy Joe (NT$250) has just the right blend of flavors to make it uniquely satisfying. All of these include a choice of two side dishes, like coleslaw, macaroni and cheese, salad, and fries. Outlaw also has a selection of local and craft beers, plus lots of space to enjoy a drink while socializing with friends and savoring a proper barbecue.
