You can enjoy Taiwanese delicacies at this restaurant, regardless of whether you’re dining alone or with a group of friends or relatives, with its modern-feeling, quiet ambiance providing a nice setting for a coffee and meal. Shin Yuan was listed among the Michelin Guide’s 2020 Bib Gourmand selection of recommended eateries, and its owner likes to take an east-meets-west approach, using nostalgic looking dinner plates to present his authentic Hakka flavored dishes like Braised Pork with Preserved Vegetables in Soy Sauce.  Delicate coffee cups are also provided for the enjoyment of coffees made from natural and washed beans.  This includes Colombia decaffeinated coffee or Coffee Late (NT$100-200), prepared with fresh local milk. Main entrees (NT$250-340) include Stewed Diced Chicken with Taro Sauce; Stir-Fried Squid with Wine, Sesame Oil and Soy Sauce; and Braised Pork with Preserved Vegetables in Soy Sauce. For an extra NT$80, you can enjoy an upgraded set meal that comes with three side dishes and Guangshan Rice, soup and healthy vegetables. The Sauteed Shrimp and Egg with Seaweed (NT$340) is savory and fragrant, while Braised Pork with Preserved Vegetables in Soy Sauce (NT$260) comes with loads of preserved cabbage and goes perfectly with rice. For an afternoon snack, you can try a bowl of refreshing Chicken Noodle Soup (NT$200) or Black Garlic Chicken Soup (NT$150) to invigorate your day.
