Owned and operated by the two Liu sisters, this laidback eatery serves "rou-zong"--tamale-like sticky rice dumplings which contain meat, mushrooms and other tasty morsels. The menu lists a few other items, including sweet-and-sour soup, but the "rou-zong" are the main draw. They're tasty, filling, and at NT$30 each, good value for money. The coffee-shop-style ambiance is another attraction. If it's a classic Taiwanese snack--a meal in itself, almost--that you¡¦re after, without the bright-lights-and-blaring-TV sensory overload that comes free at a good many local establishments, then this is your place. You'll recognize it by the bunches of "rou-zong" dangling out front. --By Steven Crook
