Antique Capital is full of Chinese flavor, in both cuisine and decor. Classically and creatively furnished, among the decorations are screens from the Qing Dynasty, and a panel covered with gold leaf. The food is very satisfying. Each day the chef, who has more than twenty years' experience working in five-star hotels, personally selects the materials he will use. Taking advantage of the ingredients' natural characteristics, he conjures various dishes including Bamboo Tube Steamed Rice, Onion Spareribs, and Coconut Cake. Prices are reasonable: Set meals can be had for as little as NT$100. -- Written and translated by Philip Ting
