Cola-Club
offers mainstream American food at reasonable prices in a
colorful diner atmosphere. According to the owner, who spent
several years in Canada, it has long been his dream to open
a place like this, a place where people can enjoy hot dogs--Cola-Club's
signature dish--which are every bit as good as those served
in North America. Hot dogs (normally priced NT$60, but available
for just NT$28 during the opening promotional period) are
available in regular style, with cheese, with curry sauce,
with black pepper sauce, or even with a coke-flavored sauce.
Additional toppings and dressings will be added to the menu
soon. There's also a choice of burgers (up to NT$80), salads
(NT$40), and other snacks. Drinks range from tea and coffee
to juices, coke-based cocktails, beers, and sodas. Cola-Club
is perhaps the only place in Taiwan to offer Hot Cola--coca-cola
warmed on a stove, and served with a little salt. The collection
of vintage-style coca-cola advertising posters alone makes
this place worth a visit. --By Steven Crook, translated by
