Located near National Cheng Kung University, Hong Kong Curry is known for its straightforward menu, and its tasty yet affordable dishes. Owned by a couple who moved here from Hong Kong 12 years ago, the restaurant serves Southeast-Asian style curries based on traditional family recipes. The menu is short and prices top out at NT$85. Dishes include Coconut Curry With Beef Strips (NT$85), Curry Chicken (NT$60), Coconut Curry With Vegetables (NT$55), Hong Kong Style Pork Rice (NT$50), and cold Taro Tapioca Drink (NT$30). All are prepared fresh by the owner's wife, and come with rice and three side dishes of the day, usually vegetables, tofu and egg. The food is served on paperware, which makes it convenient to eat in or take out. Lunchtimes are generally crowded with university students, who enjoy the good food and student-friendly prices. Because an allotted amount of curry is made and sold every day, the owner suggests coming early, as it may sell out an hour or so before actual closing time.
