Sushi Express is well known and easily distinguishable from the outside by its red and white pinstripe pillars. There are over 100 locations in Taiwan, 7 in Kaohsiung alone, and it is not hard to see why it is a growing attraction. It is a thorough sushi restaurant, complete with, arguably, the best element of food in Taiwan, namely a trolley that passes by your table with sushi, so you can grab whatever looks good. The sushi is made fresh by sushi artists that you can watch as they work. Non-Chinese speakers should note that although the menu is in Chinese only, there are photos of everything, making ordering much easier. Sushi Express offers every kind of raw seafood you might want: salmon, tuna, shrimp, eel, crab, scallops and fish of all colors. If you don't eat fish, or are just scared of raw foods, they also offer a full vegetarian menu, including items that aren't wrapped in seaweed. There are also sashimi dishes, soups, desserts and beer, all at very affordable prices.
