Situated on the corner of SihWei 4th and LingJhong
Roads stands one of Kaohsiung's most interesting combinations.
In effect, European Country Restaurant and the Golf and Wine
Bar are two separate businesses, although they seem to function
as one.
On the ground floor, the Golf and Wine Bar is owned and run
by a lady named May, who loves the sport of golf. So much
so that she has opened a bar that caters to the needs of golfers
by providing a calm, relaxing place for players to enjoy a
19th hole away from the course. She offers discount coupons
for golfers to four different clubs (information available
at the bar) and welcomes new and old players alike. The bar
specializes in wines (try the Hardy's Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon
- NT$880), but also features some good champagne, cocktails,
beers and fine Whiskeys and Vodkas. They have cable TV available
and serve a variety of bar snacks. If it is a meal you're
after, they can serve food from upstairs.
Where you'll find the European Country Restaurant.
This 4-floor restaurant offers space for large groups, conferences
and business meetings (business lunches or dinners start from
NT$200 per person). However, they also have intimate, homely
areas, decorated with paraphernalia that allows it to live
up to its name and be a wonderful place for a family or romantic
dinner.
The food is truly delicious and includes set meals of chicken,
pork and fish (NT$360) or salmon and steaks (NT$460) that
is served with mixed vegetables, a salad, soup, bread and
a choice of coffee tea or juice. The chef recommends the Baked
Lobster and Cheese (NT$620) served with a cocktail, appetizer,
salad, bread, soup, dessert, fruit and coffee, tea or juice.
Vegetarian meals are available between 11:30 a.m. - 2 p.m.
and again from 5:30 p.m. - 9 p.m.
