Recently opened close to the Kaohsiung Veteran's Hospital in SanMin District, Le Grand Nez is a quaint little cafe that exudes a totally European spirit. Renovated and designed by the owners, Mirek and Mindy Juris, it has a comfortable atmosphere, relaxing music and artwork by the Czech artist Alfons Mucha. Although it is a little off the beaten path, it is well worth the visit. They serve excellent European coffee and a large selection of fruit teas and smoothies (ranging from NT$59 to NT$120). Their food offerings include quality, homemade, all-natural French cafe food such as omelettes, crepes, salads and galettes (whole wheat crepe-like pastries with a variety of delicious fillings). Prices range from NT$69 to NT$120. All the food is prepared by Mirek and Mindy, who take good food and good coffee very seriously. Their food is also ovo-lacto vegetarian friendly. Free internet service is available.
